Library Strategic Planning - 2016

For the next several months, the library will be involved in creating a strategic plan to take us to the year 2016. The strategic plan will align the library with the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of University, which recently completed its 2007-2016 strategic plan - available online at UTSA 2016 Strategic Plan 2007 - 2016 (PDF Format - 313 KB).

Planning Timeline

June

• Initial planning meeting - Planning Team only - held June 28
• Identify Expanded Planning Team (Department Heads, Department/Unit Managers, Supervisors and LA IVs)

July

• Host facilitated planning session with Expanded Planning Team - held July 25
  • Identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats
  • Identify Values and Strategic Issues

August

• Host additional facilitated planning sessions open to all library staff to identify additional values and strategic issues - sessions held 08/23/07, 08/28/07, 08/31/07
• Identify volunteers to draft Library Mission and Vision statements
  • Draft Mission and Vision statements and send out to Expanded Planning Team for input - completed 08/30/07

September

• Library Strategic Plan Mission and Vision finalized and approved by Planning Team - completed 10/11/07
• First draft of Plan sent to Expanded Planning Team - completed 10/18/07

October

• Feedback from Expanded Planning Team on first draft - completed 11/05/07
• Second draft of Plan sent to all staff

November

• Third draft of Plan sent to outside reviewers: University Libraries Committee, Faculty Senate, Student Government Association, Dean's Council, Provost - completed 12/07/07

December

• Final Plan delivered to the University - completed 12/21/07
