2. Subject Guide for Communication Studies: What kinds of information does this guide contain, and how might it be useful to you as a researcher?
3. Off-Campus Access to Resources: Find the section on the Library's Website and read about off campus access to resources. What do you need to do to connect to the databases from home?
4. Use the Communication 3023 Webpage to answer the following questions: Why are background resources such as encyclopedias important tools for research? Name and give a call number for at least one background resource that might provide information for a topic that interests you [ Use UCAT or the Communication Subject Guide to search for a background source].
5. Read the Section about Developing your Topic. What 5 questions should you ask and answer when you're trying to develop a research topic?
6. Use the same section to answer the following questions. What strategy is used with the sample topic that might help you to narrow down your own research topic? Write at least one of the possible final research questions that resulted from narrowing the sample topic. |
