Celebrate National Library Week

During National Library Week, UTSA Library is celebrating the vital role that libraries around the world play in the advancement of the communities in which they thrive.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. National Library Week is the perfect time to join the circle of knowledge @ UTSA by discovering your library's services and resources!

"Everyday, libraries in big cities and small towns, colleges and universities, in schools and in businesses help transform their communities," says Jan Kemp, Assistant Dean for Public Services at UTSA Library.

"At our library, students, faculty, and staff can meet to work on projects, do research from over 300 research databases, get research assistance from reference librarians, check out books and popular movies from our collection of over 600,000 titles, and use our 24/5 computer lab, among other things."

"We're especially proud of services we've added within the last several months, including laptop checkout and writing and tutoring assistance, to name a few. With library renovation slated to begin the latter part of this year, our library is changing to better meet the needs of the campus community."

For more information about National Library Week, visit the UTSA Library at the 1604 or Downtown Campuses, call us at 458-4573 or 458-2446, or contact Jan Kemp at 458-4576 or via email at jan.kemp@utsa.edu.
