Library 101 - Your Guide to Library Resources

Orientation

John Peace Library
The John Peace Library is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the JPL Building at the 1604 Campus and if you are a new student or first time visitor, you might find it a little overwhelming.  A Self Guided Cassette Tour and a floor plan map, available in the Multimedia Center (MMC), should help orient you to the UTSA Library, its various departments and the services that are available to you. The MMC is located on the 2nd floor of the library to the left of the elevators.

UTSA Downtown Library
All students are welcome to use the UTSA Downtown Library, which provides electronic and physcial access to most of the same resources and services available to users of the John Peace Library. This library is primarily an electronic library, but also includes a "core collection" of reference and print materials in support of programs and curricula offered at the downtown campus. Students who use the Downtown Library can request materials from the John Peace Library via a courier service provided by the library. The Downtown Campus Library provides electronic and physical access to most of the same resources and services available to users of the JPL Library.

UTSA Archives
Located on the second floor of the Institute of Texas Cultures (ITC), the UTSA Archives acquires, preserves, and provides access to primary source materials that document the history of San Antonio and South Texas. Although it’s not a part of the UTSA Library, books at the ITC Library are listed in the UTSA Library Catalog to provide students with access to important resources that are not held by the UTSA Library.
