Tourism Offices Worldwide Directory

This directory lists official tourism offices, convention and visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce and other similar types of tourist sites. They do not list commercial travel agents or hotels.

This organization provides help for its members with operations, education, and communications. It also serves as a lobbying group for the industry. The website includes industry specific news and some industry snapshots for free to the public. Some information on the website is for members only.

ITA Tourism Industries

This is an official U.S. government website run by the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries. It provides statistical information on travel and trade. Most of the publications are available at no charge.

HospitalityNet
Free Website: www.hospitalitynet.org
This website is a "hospitality-specific online knowledge-base." Much of its information, including news and market reports, is supplied by members of the industry.

This print index was first published under the name The Lodging and Restaurant Index. It was developed by Purdue University in order to provide an index to the most important articles found in about 65 major trade and research journals in the hospitality industry.

ABI/INFORM Complete (UTSA subscription)
Provides access to three electronic resources, which can be searched simultaneously: ABI/INFORM Dateline, ABI/INFORM Global, and ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry. ABI/INFORM Global indexes and abstracts well over 1,600 business periodicals, providing a substantial number of full text and page image content. ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry offers more than 700 specific trade and industry publications, while ABI/INFORM Dateline provides access to 150 local, city, state and regional business publications. Together these resources enable researchers to track business conditions, trends, management techniques, corporate strategies, and industry-specific topics worldwide. Brings together a wide variety of company and industry business information, including company profiles and histories, current and historical stock prices, market share data, industry overviews, brand information, rankings, investment reports including Reuters Research on Demand and Zacks Investment Research Inc., chronologies, and periodical and news articles. Information can be accessed by a variety of search keys including company name/ticker, industry code/description, geographic area, subject, personal name, and journal title. Updated regularly.
