Introduction

This unit covers how to choose and use a database effectively, & how to build your research question and related keywords into search questions that can be understood by computer databases and library catalogs.

Objectives

  • Distinguish a database from other types of information collections
  • Identify the coverage of a database
  • Understand the concept of field, and advanced searching in a database
