Friends of the UTSA Library

The Friends of the UTSA Library was organized to solicit and encourage support of the UTSA Library as well as to provide a vehicle for increased awareness about libraries.  Members of the Friends of the UTSA Library pay an annual membership fee of $25.00.  The membership year is one year from the date of application.

Privileges:

• Book Borrowing - May check out up to four (4) books at any one time from the general collections.
• Interlibrary Loan - Interlibrary loan requests are accepted at $5.00 per request, with additional charges as per agreements with other libraries;  e.g. copying charges, loan fees, or postage, if charged by the lending library.

Membership Cards and Multiple Borrowers:

The Friends of the UTSA Library card is valid only for the person identified on the card.  Should additional family members or business associates wish to use UTSA's services, group memberships are available at two levels:

• Up to 3 cards issued for $50
• Up to 6 cards issued for $100.00

Limitations:

Restrictions may apply to special services in some areas of the library, such as the Multimedia Center and Reference.

Because of high demand by UTSA Students, members may not check out textbooks.

Fines:

Information concerning fines is available under Fine and Replacement Policies on the Borrowing Services page or by calling 458-4574.  Companies agree to accept responsibility for materials checked out on company cards.

Identification:

The UTSA Library reserves the right to request a picture ID when checking out materials.

Lost Cards:

Replacement cards for the Friends of the UTSA Library are $1.00 and may be requested by mail (with payment) or at the Circulation Desk.  The replacement card will be mailed. The Circulation department's mailing address is:
