Disability Facilities at the Library

Library Accessibility

John Peace Library

Entry and Elevators:
Building entrances are located on the west side of the building, facing the Sombrilla (the campus courtyard). Both the first and second floors have public entrances.

One public elevator provides access between the first and second floors; another public elevator provides access between the second and third floors.

Wheelchair-accessible workstations:
Most library workstations are wheelchair-accessible.
Reference Desk staff will be happy to assist you in finding an appropriate workstation.

Downtown Library

Entry and Elevators:
The Downtown Library is located on the second floor of the Buena Vista Street Building.
Several public elevators are available.

Library staff will be happy to assist you in finding an appropriate workstation.


Assistive Technology

John Peace Library

Jaws Screen Reader is available on one computer at the Library Electronic Classroom at JPL. Please ask the lab assistant for assistance. Headphones and manuals (in braille) are available for checkout at the Multimedia Center on the 2nd floor of the John Peace Library.

  • Some library materials, including Reference materials and journals, do not circulate.
  • Students are welcome to make photocopies of materials to use with assistive technology equipment elsewhere on campus.
  • For exceptions to this policy, please check with Reference Desk staff.
