Group Study Rooms

1604 Campus

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms are designed for groups of 2 - 6 people. The rooms, located on the third floor of JPL, are open and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Although one person may use the room, a group of 2 - 6 people has priority and may ask the individual to relocated to another area, such as the Quiet Study Area. Library staff at the Reference Desk may be contacted for assistance to find individual quiet study areas.

Group Seminar Rooms

There are two seminar rooms, JPL 3.01.54 and JPL 3.01.56. These rooms are kept locked. They are for seminar classes. When not needed as classrooms these rooms may be used by study groups of 7 - 15. One-time requests by student study groups may be filled providing the room is open. Call the Circulation Desk at 458-4574 for room availability.

The key to the room may be picked up at the Circulation Desk a few minutes prior to the schedule time. The person who scheduled the room is expected to stop at the desk to get the key, and sign in with his/her name and contact information. The key should be returned immediately following the end of the session.

Study groups eligible to use the room include UTSA student, staff or faculty groups. Each must present a valid UTSA ID. Non-UTSA community members who are meeting with students or staff may use a room, providing the person is not charging for his/her services or profiting from such a meeting. An example of a person not eligible to reserve a room would be a tutor who charges for his/her services.
