Guest Computer Use Policy
Locations
A few desktop computers in the John Peace Library and Downtown Library are reserved for guests, including alumni and Community Borrowing Program members. These computers are mainly for research purposes, so they do not offer productivity software (such as Microsoft Word). Library guests can use these computers to access most of the libraries’ electronic resources.
How to Use the Guest Computers
Acquire a temporary log-on ID at the Information or Front Desks of the John Peace and Downtown Libraries. (The AET Library does not offer computer access to guests.)
The Fine Print
- Use of these workstations is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Guest access is limited to 30 minutes.
- After the initial 30 minutes of use, guests may be required to observe a 30-minute waiting period to allow others the opportunity to use the guest computers. This will be decided at the discretion of library staff.
- UTSA Libraries reserve the right to reclaim guest computers for accessing research materials.
