Information Services and Student Engagement
Kawanna provides leadership and direction for the John Peace Library Information Commons, including reference and information desk service. With a team of eight, including two professional librarians, five library assistants, and an administrative assistant, she coordinates user experience, student engagement, and the reference and information service efforts of the Library. Kawanna also coordinates the Library’s efforts to collaborate with in-house campus partners, and is in charge of the development of the Library’s new Peer Library Coaches Program. Kawanna is a past president of the ALA Library Instruction Roundtable and a member of the ACRL Immersion Program Committee.
Her research and publication interests include information literacy, reference and research services, the first year experience, and diversity in libraries.
