Dr. Krisellen Maloney became Dean of Libraries at the University of Texas at San Antonio in February 2009. In this role, she oversees the libraries at all three UTSA campuses.
Dr. Maloney came to UTSA from Georgetown University, where she served as associate university librarian for digital services and technology planning. There she was responsible for Access Services, Technical Services, the New Media Center, Digital Services, and Systems.
Dr. Maloney’s previous roles include director of information technology in the Library of Congress Law Library, and team leader of digital library and information systems at University of Arizona Libraries. She was also the Team Leader for Digital Information Systems at the University of Arizona where she was responsible for Digital Libraries and Systems. Prior to her work in libraries, Dr. Maloney worked as a Programmer Analyst and Research Scientist at the Arizona Health Sciences Center .
Dr. Maloney holds a Ph.D. in information science, an M.A. in library science, and M.S. and bachelor's degrees in management information systems, all from the University of Arizona.
Dr. Maloney was an Association of Research Libraries 2007-2008 Research Library Leadership Fellow. She holds a patent for the Interactive Multimedia Report Viewer and received the University of Arizona Excellence in Teaching Award. She has published and presented widely on the topics of library systems, information architecture, and management.
