In September of 2009, the University of Texas at San Antonio Special Collections began a partnership with the Internet Archive's Archive-It Program to selectively capture, preserve, and make accessible web sites culturally and administratively significant to the University of Texas at San Antonio. The program seeks to preserve web sites related to the University of Texas at San Antonio, including web content created by the university administration, academic departments, and student organizations. Since 2009, the UTSA Special Collections Web Archive Program has archived over 1800 web sites, close to 42 million documents, and over 1700 gigbytes of data.
