UTSA’s Adopt-A-Free-Textbook grant benefits faculty & students

(SEPTEMBER 22, 2022) UTSA Libraries awarded 13 Adopt-a-Free-Textbook grants to UTSA faculty for the 2022-23 academic year that will save students nearly $206,000. These grants will support and enable faculty to adopt or create free or Open Educational Resources (OER) textbooks as the primary textbooks in their courses.

UTSA has received a $10,000 grant from Driving Open Educational Resources Sustainability for Student Success (DOERS3) to implement the “DOERSS Equity Through OER Rubric” on campus throughout 2023, expanding access and enhancing the university’s efforts to provide wider access to textbooks and learning resources.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) awards a $25,000 OER Grant to UTSA faculty to tailor a Creative Commons textbook for Writing Program 1013 class.
