Rush Requests for In-Process Items

What does "in-process" mean?

  • An "In-process" item is one that has been received by the library but not yet cataloged or otherwise made available.
  • Such items can usually be identified by the note "1 Copy Received as of [date]" in the Order Information section of the catalog record.
  • If the catalog record displays an "on order" message without a received date, the item has not been received and cannot be requested.

How do I request an in-process item?

  • To request an in-process item, print out the catalog record for the desired item and submit it to the Front Desk or Information Desk.
  • You will need to provide your name and a way for us to contact you. Requests will be processed within one business day. You will be notified when the item is ready.
