Classroom Observations

A Teaching/Learning Specialist from the Faculty Center will visit classes of faculty to document current teaching practices and communication patterns in the classroom. NOTE: If you need information on peer observations in support of promotion and tenure, please review Guidelines for Faculty Peer Observation of Teaching (PDF), from the Provost’s Office.


At any point during a Fall or Spring semester.


Classroom Observation Reports can augment Teaching Award Packets.  If appropriate, student engagement tips and best practices can also be provided in addition to the observation report.

NOTE:  Classroom Observation sessions should be requested at least 48 hours before the desired date/time for each session.
