Successful Collaboration with an Engineering Faculty in Selecting the Required Course Textbook Using Library Materials

The high cost of textbooks is one of the most pressing education issues of our time. Each year, textbooks have been less and less affordable to students specially textbooks in the STEM discipline. Before deciding whether to purchase or rent them, students would regularly check the library to see if their course materials are available for checkout. In the Spring 2021, an Industrial Engineering and Management faculty was given an added load of teaching the Facilities Planning and Work Design course for Fall 2021. This lightning talk will provide an overview of the how the engineering faculty, and I planned and selected the eBooks that he adopted for this course.
