The Sounds of San Anto, a forthcoming project dedicated to San Antonio’s history of music, will consist of three digital products. The first product incorporates geo-location data to display over 2,000 concerts held in and around San Antonio across the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early, 2000s. A second product will document through digital storytelling and archival materials local music venues that were deeply woven into the city’s music and nightlife scenes. The final product focuses on a famed Mexican corrido, The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez, and utilizes text analysis amplify the lyric’s narrative across maps and newspaper sources.
