The PAD 1113 team is using a variety of materials, including OER, open access and e-books and articles available through the UTSA Libraries.
More from the team:
“We piloted a reading list for PAD1113 in Fall 2016 and adopted a common improved list for all sections in Spring 2017. All course materials are available to students on Blackboard. This has allowed us to teach using material from a range of textbook authors, videos, government reports, as well as news and journal articles. We are committed to continuing this approach.
“Our vision is to reduce textbook costs and increase text access for our undergraduate program. We appreciate the work of UTSA librarians to introduce this approach and support those of us who are committed to open educational resources.
“Looking at classes that we both have taught, we have used open educational resources in many, including: PAD 1113, PAD 4853 (Spring 2017), PAD 3013 (Spring 2017). For PAD 3043, we use a UTSA Libraries’ e-book as the primary textbook in the course.”
