Self-Paced Learning

Texas Learn OER is a series of self-paced online learning modules. The first nine modules cover the basics. The 10th module is a final assessment. This is a great place to test your knowledge and explore additional concepts. You’ll earn a certificate upon completion.

Communities

Looking to connect with others involved in OER? These organizations are the ultimate hubs for faculty that seek deeper engagement with OER.

Open Education Network

UTSA Libraries is an Open Education Network member. The OEN is an alliance of higher education institutions committed to improving access, affordability, and academic success through open textbooks. OEN provides training to increase capacity for advancing OER at member campuses. Benefits are: free regional workshops, OEN Summer Institute (OENSI) attendance, and a community of practice with Texas Digital Library OER Ambassadors. UTSA Libraries partners with Texas Digital Library to host regional OEN workshops.

Rebus Community

Rebus is both a global network of OER advocates working together to create and share OER and a vibrant community of people, processes, and tools that support OER publishing. Connect with Rebus Community when starting an open textbook project by creating a free account. Members support each other through OER publishing projects by mentoring, guiding, and providing feedback. Once you create an account, you can post and respond to calls for contributors to your open textbook project. Rebus is changing the world with open education.
