“The UTSA Russian is using the Adopt-a-Free-Textbook Grant Program to modify our first-year language curriculum. Our Elementary Russian language sequence will be taught with Mezhdu Nami (Between Us), a free web-based textbook. The book is organized around the stories of four American students who are studying abroad in Russia. Language programs rely on bringing students into elementary coursework, so that a sizable number of students can progress into intermediate and advanced coursework. We hope that removing textbook cost barriers will help more students study Russian in the first-year sequence and beyond.”
