Ryan McPherson

McPherson has worked with the UTSA Libraries to find and discover open educational resources, eliminating the financial and technological barriers posed by traditional textbooks for students enrolled in his courses.

“We know university costs have nearly tripled, and OER adoption is something faculty can do to help students. Courses that adapt OER texts do not put students in further debt. Students that cannot afford textbooks start the class a week or two behind due to supply or shipping issues. Students have had to wait for a month for a book in the past.”
