Germaine provides leadership, strategic direction, and coordination for communications and marketing initiatives across UT San Antonio Libraries and Museums, including Special Collections, home to the renowned Mexican Cookbook Collection; the Art Collection; Development; the Institute of Texan Cultures; and more. An award-winning integrated marketing and public relations professional, she brings extensive experience in higher education, public libraries, nonprofit communications, and brand storytelling, specializing in demand generation and digital marketing strategies. She previously built a communications office from the ground up at the New Orleans Public Library and served as Marketing Director at Xavier University of Louisiana. Following Hurricane Katrina, Germaine settled in Texas, where she expanded her expertise by working with an award-winning boutique public relations firm and an award-winning technology company, leading communications initiatives across the hair care, fast-food, and technology sectors. She now brings those experiences together to lead communications efforts that elevate visibility, strengthen engagement, and foster community connection across UT San Antonio Libraries and Museums.
