James leads content creation and news production for the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures, producing and managing content across its website, newsletter, social media platforms, marketing materials, and communications with stakeholders, partners, and mainstream media. He collaborates closely with UT San Antonio Libraries and Museums Communications, Marketing, and Creative Services departments to deliver cohesive, strategic messaging that advances the institute’s mission.
With deep institutional knowledge and extensive experience supporting ITC exhibits, programs, and large-scale festivals, James helps bring the stories of Texas’ diverse cultures to audiences across the state and beyond. He has been a trusted spokesperson for the ITC, representing the institute in speaking engagements and with news outlets.
James holds a master’s degree in communications arts from the University of the Incarnate Word and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas A&M University.
