Featured Artist Cesar Martinez
Forming his artistic vision during the Chicano uprisings, Cesar Martinez's voice was one of the few telling the stories of Latinos in the South Texas border region. Influenced by newspaper photos, yearbooks, and other sources, Martinez composed portraits of Chicanos against backdrops of vivid color. His works are featured in many prominent collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City.
