Creating Data Management & Sharing Plans

Data Management and Sharing Plans are a vital step when planning a research project to support the organization and future reuse of data. As new data management requirements from federal funders emerge, it's important for researchers to understand how to develop Data Management and Sharing Plans that align with these mandates. This workshop will provide an overview of common DMSP elements, including descriptions of data types, long-term storage & archiving, team responsibilities, and access policies. Attendees will also be introduced to the DMPTool, a free online resource that helps researchers create data management plans, as well as how to locate appropriate DMP templates.
