Applications are now being accepted for two faculty grants offered by the UTSA Libraries. Both grants are open to tenure and non-tenure track faculty, and offer awards to supplement travel allowances for conferences and research.
Adopt-a-Textbook Grants
The Adopt-a-Textbook Grant was created to support the adoption and adaption of open educational resources at UTSA, offering an incentive for faculty to integrate a free textbook (or other free instructional materials) into a course.
This grant is available to both individuals and groups. Individual awards are $1,000 and group awards range from $1,500—$7,000 (calculated based on number of students impacted) for faculty to adopt a free textbook in a course. Applications for group awards require a minimum of 3 instructors or all instructors for a course).

Faculty Teaching in the Archives (FTIA) Grants
FTIA grants are aimed at instructors who would like to design or invigorate a course with unique content from UTSA’s Special Collections. Four grant recipients will receive $1,000 each.
The grants offer teaching faculty an opportunity to implement innovative archives-centered pedagogical approaches in their courses in order to introduce students to a variety of primary sources, engage students in-depth archival research, build students’ critical thinking skills, and stress participation in collaborative projects and presentations.
