African American Music Reference (Alexander Street Press) - access biographies, chronologies, sheet music, images, lyrics, liner notes and discographies chronicling the diverse history and culture of the African American experience through music.
African American Newspapers – view the recorded history and culture of 270 African American newspapers from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Black Freedom Struggle in the 20th Century - digitized primary source material on the African American civil rights struggle in federal government records, organizational records and personal papers.
NAACP Papers - digitized primary source material containing nearly two million pages documenting the NAACP’s work on behalf of civil rights.
Kanopy Streaming Service - contains a special featured section for streaming films and documentaries that highlight African American filmmakers.

Archival Collections
Helen Cloud Austin Papers –Helen Cloud Austin earned local and national recognition for her accomplishments and dedication as a social worker at the San Antonio State Hospital, where she served as Chief of the Social Services Department. Her papers—which have been digitized and are available for viewing online—include correspondence, photographs, news clippings and a scrapbook documenting her career and community involvement.
Snap Magazine Collection – spanning the years 1955-1966, Snap was a weekly local publication that covered San Antonio politics, social events, and current events in Civil Rights-era San Antonio from an African-American perspective.
Sterling Houston Papers – Sterling Houston led a thirty-year career as a professional theater actor, musician and writer whose work dealt primarily with issues of alienation, racial identity, mythology and more. This collection contains scripts, screenplays, programs and press materials of his theatrical works.
