UTSA Special Collections is dedicated to providing public access to our growing digital collections of rare books, personal papers, organizational records, photographic collections, and UTSA history collections. This includes collections that contain born-digital materials as well as physical items our department selects for digitization.
While we can only provide online access to a small fraction of our total holdings, we are committed to a digitization program that will increase the availability of our most heavily used collections, promote those with high research value, and aid in reducing wear and tear to our most fragile collections.
We currently have over 42,000 items available for viewing online.

- Material from personal papers and organizational records
- Newspapers, reports, books, and periodicals
- Broadsides, maps, and drawings
- Material from the University Archives
- Audiovisual content such as oral histories
- Books from the Mexican Cookbook Collection
