Limitations
UTSA Libraries reserves the right to recall items on loan when they are required or requested for course reserves. Items recalled for course reserves must be returned by the new due date emailed to the borrower, and overdue fine rates will apply if the items are not returned by the new due date.
Returning or Renewing
Items may be returned to the John Peace Library on Main Campus, the Downtown Library, or the AET Library, regardless of where they were checked out.
If you are still using the books, you may renew them up to three times. Books can be renewed online through your account, by calling the John Peace Library (210-458-4574) or the Downtown Library (210-458-2440), or in person at the Front Desk of either library.
Reserves, popular reading, tech gear, and curriculum material collections do not allow renewals due to their high demand nature. For these items please call or visit the library to find out your options for renewing or extending your current loan.
Overdue Fines
Overdue fines are charged for regular books and multimedia items, as well as for high-demand items including reserve materials, recalled items, and laptops. Overdue notices are emailed to you as a courtesy. Failure to receive notices of overdue items is not grounds for dismissing fines. A hold will be placed on your account if your overdue fines or fees for lost library item(s) total $95 or more and you will not be able to borrow, renew, or request materials (with the exception of Course Reserves, Laptops, or Calculators), or order transcripts if your overdue fines or fees for lost library item(s) total $95 or more.
